Über uns HTCR Services GmbH

Human Tissue and Cell Research-Services GmbH (“HTCR-Services”) specializes in sourcing high-quality biological material for the pharma, biotech and diagnostic industry. Through its network of local hospitals and medical key opinion leaders, the company delivers a wide range of high-quality, annotated pathological and macroscopically normal tissues. By supporting pre-clinical and basic research, such as the discovery of new, disease-related biomarkers, ADME and mechanistic studies accelerating new drug development and personalized treatment options.

The company carries out the procurement and allocation of human biospecimens as well as associated medical data in strict accordance with the guidelines of the HTCR Foundation and in compliance with all applicable statutes and regulations, including the WMA Declarations of Helsinki and Taipei, the OECD Guidelines on Human Biobanks and Genetic Research Databases and GDPR 2016/679. All project proposals are subjected to an independent review by the board of HTCR Foundation and formal IRB application with the local ethic commission in Bavaria.

High failure rates of clinical trials can partially be attributed to insufficient in-vitro and in-vivo models that fail to recapitulate the complexity of the human physiology and predict patient response. HTCR-Services is filling this gap within pre-clinical programs by providing high-quality tissue and associated clinical data. The translational relevance of said studies is drastically improved by directly analyzing the presence of biomarkers, therapeutic efficacy, and potential adverse effects in fresh patient material ex-vivo. Our core expertise is built around the procurement of “freshly” collected biospecimens with a wide range of human diseases in standard and customized formats (tumor and “normal” tissues, blood, isolated cells, clinical data).

We are recognized as a leading biobanking organization for the procurement of high-quality human tissues and cell derivatives to better predict drug efficacy and safety in pre-clinical drug development.

Customized Biobanking Services: Prospectively collected bio-samples are obtained with informed patient consent and supplied with comprehensive, de-identified clinical data hosted by the state-of-the-art CentraXX biorepository data management system (licensed from Kairos GmbH, an IQVIA member since 2021).

A professional and dedicated team procures tissue donations in cooperation with Ludwig-Maximilian-University Hospital, Munich (LMU), Red Cross Clinic, Munich, and University St. Josef Hospital, Regensburg and continuously expanding the clinical network activities.
